Coke Plant Services

Fosbel pioneered Ceramic Welding technology for hot repair of coke ovens, giving improved efficiency and extending the operational lives of coke batteries. Fosbel has been repairing coke oven refractories for over 20 years and is the preferred choice of coke producers around the world - for both preventive maintenance and emergencies. When oven condition is such that rebricking is needed, Fosbel offers the MICOWALL (Modular Interlocking Coke Oven Wall) system. This revolutionary technology utilizes a BHP patented interlocking brick design and zero expansion silica for the rapid rebuild of coke oven walls, with a minimum of brick shapes, thus minimizing inventories and returning ovens to production faster.

Fosbel specializes in providing Complete Furnace Maintenance to extend the life of glass furnaces. From day-to-day hot repair management to emergency repairs, Fosbel offers a wide range of hot repair and inspection services. With experienced engineers and technicians familiar with almost any furnace condition, repairs are conducted in an effective and efficient manner, reducing production downtime to an absolute minimum.

Fosbel has conducted more than 1000 glass furnace repairs of virtually every type around the world. Repairs are routinely made to:

Utilizing Fosbel's patented Ceramic Welding technology, the refractory linings of heaters may be repaired during furnace operation, with no interruption of production.

Aluminium / Nonferrous

Ceramic Welding, which was developed by Fosbel, has proven to be a cost-effective, long-lasting furnace repair method in the aluminum, brass, copper, magnesium, nickel, platinum, titanium and zinc industries, throughout the world.

Fosbel has developed materials specifically designed to match the properties of a variety of refractories used in nonferrous furnace linings, including: 60%, 70%, and 80% alumina, magnesia, magnesia-chrome, silicon carbide, fireclay and others. In most instances, the process has no effect on melt chemistry.

Fosbel also offers a range of hot Inspection Services to view and document refractory damage in all areas of the furnace without interruption to production, as well as other hot repair methods.

Cement & Mineral Processing

Fosbel's Ceramic Welding technology is perfectly suited for undertaking a range of refractory repairs in cement kilns. Through the use of water-cooled lances, repairs can be made in many areas of rotary kilns without the need to cool the furnace down, thus preventing further refractory degradation. Nose ring and firing hood repairs have been undertaken in numerous plants, preventing long-term losses in production.

Fosbel has a range of hot inspection equipment such as the Lancescope ™ Camera system and Infrared Thermography which can be used during production to enable furnace operators to pinpoint problem areas before they jeopardize the furnace integrity.
Foundry

Fosbel Ceramic Welding has proven to be a cost-effective, long-lasting furnace repair method on slag lines and tap spouts of vertical and double channel induction furnaces and pressure pourers. Repairs on coreless induction furnaces have also been performed successfully.

The properties of the repair are comparable to those of the original refractory.

Fosbel has a range of hot inspection equipment such as the Lancescope ™ Camera system and Infrared Thermography which can be used to enable furnace operators to pinpoint problem areas before they jeopardize the furnace integrity.
